Yes, Harmony Pastures proudly welcomes NDIS participants. Our team is experienced in working alongside support coordinators and plan managers, making the process smooth and ensuring your therapeutic and recreational goals are fully supported.
No, you do not need your own horse for riding lessons or equine-assisted therapy. Harmony Pastures provides well-trained, gentle horses suited to different needs and abilities. Some of our events, such as clinics and training days, do require you to bring your own horse. However, many of our connection days and community events are open to participants without horses, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to be involved and enjoy the experience.
Our events are designed to be inclusive and supportive for participants at every stage of their equine journey. Whether you are completely new to horses or an experienced rider seeking to refine your skills, thereâs a place for you at Harmony Pastures.
Beginners â Fun days, groundwork sessions, and Equine Connection events are perfect starting points. These activities are relaxed, supportive, and designed to help you build confidence, learn the basics, and enjoy meaningful time with horses in a safe environment.
Intermediate and experienced riders â For participants with more riding experience, our clinics and training days provide the opportunity to strengthen your skills, deepen your understanding of horsemanship, and take on new challenges under the guidance of our skilled team.
Each event description on our website clearly outlines the recommended experience level, so youâll always know what to expect before booking. If youâre uncertain which event best suits your needs, our friendly team is more than happy to provide advice and guide you toward the right choice.
Yes! Harmony Pastures is committed to providing safe, supported, and inclusive participation for all. Our Equine Connection Days are designed specifically with NDIS participants in mind, offering opportunities to build confidence, connection, and wellbeing through positive equine experiences.
That said, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. All of our equestrian events, lessons, and therapy sessions are delivered in a way that welcomes and supports people of all abilities. Whether you are joining us for equine-assisted therapy, riding lessons, or community events, our experienced team will work alongside participants, families, carers, and support coordinators to ensure individual needs are met and everyone feels valued and included.
Absolutely! Families, carers, and supporters are always welcome at Harmony Pastures. We believe that equine experiences are best shared, and we encourage loved ones to be part of the journey. Your presence not only supports participants but also helps create a warm, inclusive atmosphere for everyone.
Some events , such as gymkhanas, fun days, and community gatherings , are designed to be especially community-focused, offering a great opportunity for families and friends to connect, celebrate achievements, and enjoy the day together. Whether youâd like to watch, cheer from the sidelines, or simply spend time in the beautiful surroundings, your involvement is valued and appreciated.
At Harmony Pastures, safety is always our top priority. For this reason, we may need to postpone or reschedule events, lessons, or therapy sessions in the event of poor weather conditions such as heavy rain, storms, extreme heat, or unsafe riding surfaces.
If a change is required, all registered participants will be contacted directly via phone or email with updates and alternative arrangements. We aim to provide as much notice as possible and will always work with you to find a suitable new time so your experience is not missed.
If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, we are happy to offer either a credit toward another session or a refund, ensuring you are never disadvantaged by circumstances beyond your control.
To help you feel comfortable and prepared, we recommend bringing:
Appropriate clothing and footwear â For your safety, enclosed shoes or riding boots are essential. We also recommend long pants and weather-appropriate clothing, such as a light jacket in cooler months or sun-protective clothing and a hat during summer. Helmets are provided for riding lessons and therapy sessions if you donât have your own.
Water and snacks â Staying hydrated and energised is important, especially during longer lessons, therapy sessions, or events. A reusable water bottle and light snacks are perfect to keep you comfortable throughout the day.
Any required tack or gear for your horse (if bringing your own) â If youâre bringing your horse, please ensure you bring their usual tack and equipment, such as saddle, bridle, halter, grooming kit, and any protective gear they may need. This helps your horse stay comfortable and ensures a smooth, safe experience for both horse and rider.
